Founded in 1995 by Benedict G. Puglisi, Atelier Puglisi has grown to become one of Australia's premier centres for stringed instruments, luthiers and clientele, both national and international.

 



Atelier Puglisi is dedicated to the art of stringed instrument making, repairs & restoration.

It has since established itself as one of Melbourne and Australia's leading centres for repairs, restorations and sales of Double Basses, Violins, Violas & Cellos from the beginner to the professional musician.

The extensive clientele extends to not only the local string playing community, but nationwide enthusiasts, professionals
and an ever increasing international clientele.

Expert instrument makers from around the world have worked in the Atelier Puglisi workshop.
Makers from the USA, Switzerland, Mexico, Belgium, England, Holland, Hungary and Italy, as well as excellent locally grown talent.
An emphasis on the training of young instrument making enthusiasts has always been at the heart of this supportive workshop.

Australian Tour

Chilean musician Nano Stern is set to tour Australia in March 2012, with the support of instruments provided by the team at Atelier Puglisi.

A talented violinist from an early age, Nano Stern has gone on to master many instruments and musical styles. Funk, Latin, Classical and Gypsy all influence his wonderful music.

THE CZECH-EASE HAS LANDED DOWN UNDER!

Atelier Puglisi is proud to announce that David Gage's famous Czech-Ease travel basses are now available for the first time in Australia. 

With esteemed Double Bassist's such as Grammy winning Esperanza Spalding, Danny Thompson and Marco Panascia all using these tremendously convenient and impressive instruments, they're set to sell fast.

 

 

ADELAIDE INTERNATIONAL CELLO FESTIVAL 2011

Varnishing of Benedict's new Cello has started in anticipation of its Christening at the ultimate Cello festival, April 1st-10th 2011.  This petite instrument is inspired by Stradivari's Mera 1711 and is set to be one of many instruments by contemporary makers to be exhibited at the festival.

The Elder Conservatorium of Music at University of Adelaide is hosting this year's Adelaide International Cello Festival.  Freaturing concerts, recitals, lectures, master classes, Cello making projects and everything Cello, the festival is also proud to include esteemed Violin and Cello maker, Frank Ravatin as part of the festival.

Benedict, along with five other maker's including Frank Ravatin will be participating in the Cello Challenge, where a Cello is made over the duration of the festival from wood to pre varnishing.
