English Tarr School fine Double Bass

POA

Truly amazing double bass.

It is not often that instrument like this comes up for sale.

This English Double Bass is attributed to the very popular maker William Tarr

Manchester mid 1800s. And this instrument has spent a good deal of its working life in Manchester too.

Now after a neck reset the instrument is available in Melbourne Australia.

This instrument has its original short scale, Just 101.5cm ( 40" ) making it very easy to play, but the sound is not compromised.

The varnish and machine heads are not completely original and its showing many of the inevitable wear and tear overworking instrument, and many of the repairs are of and agricultural nature. However this instrument is in great playing condition.

Absolutely ideal for somebody with small hands or somebody looking for perfect chamber Bass.
