German 1952 Contrabass. Sold














New to the showroom! 


This double bass is looking for a lucky new owner. After spending some time gracing the fields of Europe, this instrument has found it's way to Melbourne.


The instrument is labeled Herbet Moritz Mönnig. Mönnig was a master maker who worked in various German Ateliers, including the gathering of luthiers in the workshop of Johannes Jehle. 




This instrument has a very comfortable 104cm string length, with a well developed sound, suitable for both classical and jazz styles.



Upper bout: 48.8cm

Lower bout: 65.5cm

Middle bout: 36.2cm

Rib depth: 16.2-19.6-19.8cm

String length: 104cm

Body length: 108cm
